Vietnam’s Tech Giant FPT Invest $200 Million to Build AI Factory With Nvidia

FPT, Vietnam’s premier technology firm, has revealed plans to establish a $200 million Artificial Intelligence factory that will leverage Nvidia’s advanced graphics chips and Software.

This initiative marks a significant advancement in Vietnam’s tech sector, with both companies formalizing their cooperation through a strategic partnership.

FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh expressed the company’s ambitious vision during a press event, stating,

FPT is set to not only expand its operations in Vietnam but also explore potential markets in Japan and South Korea. Our goal is to transform Vietnam into a major AI hub through strategic collaborations with Nvidia, covering technology development, business growth, and training.

This partnership reflects Nvidia’s continued commitment to fostering technological growth worldwide. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang had previously highlighted the company’s plans to deepen ties with Vietnam’s leading tech entities, aiming to support the country’s AI and digital infrastructure development.

Keith Strier, Vice President of Worldwide AI Initiatives at Nvidia, detailed the cooperative framework at a Hanoi event, noting,

We are engaging with various operating units within FPT, tailoring agreements and strategies to maximize the effectiveness of our partnership.

The collaboration is timely, as Nvidia has already invested over $250 million in Vietnam, though further investment details remain undisclosed.

FPT, currently the most valuable tech entity on Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh City bourse with a market capitalization of $5.5 billion, continues to excel in providing diverse AI, cloud, and big data services. In the previous year, FPT’s total revenues surpassed $2 billion, underscoring its significant growth and innovation capabilities.

With this substantial investment and strategic alliance, FPT and Nvidia are poised to drive significant technological advancements in Vietnam, potentially setting a new benchmark for AI development in the region.
