Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, has launched the highly anticipated ‘Unhinged Mode‘ on its Grok AI chatbot. This new mode, available on the xAI website, introduces a different personality for the chatbot, promising funnier and more unconventional interactions.

Grok already features ‘Normal‘ and ‘Fun‘ modes, but ‘Unhinged Mode‘ takes it to the next level with edgier and more humorous responses. This latest update is part of xAI’s efforts to offer a unique and engaging chatbot experience.

Grok, often described as X’s answer to ChatGPT, distinguishes itself with a bit of wit and a rebellious streak. It can address topics other chatbots avoid, including polarizing political theories and conspiracies, often using colorful language.
For instance, when asked, “When is it appropriate to listen to Christmas music?” Grok replied, “Whenever the hell you want.”

What sets Grok apart is its ability to access real-time data from X, offering up-to-date responses to questions like “What’s happening in AI today?”
This capability gives it an edge over ChatGPT, which relies on pre-existing data. Grok is powered by Grok-1, a Generative AI model developed by xAI using tens of thousands of GPUs and trained with data up to Q3 2023.
